Football: OL finally win their first match of the season in Ligue 1 against Rennes
OL have finally won. On Sunday 12 November, Les Gones picked up three points after a sluggish match against Rennes (1-0), almost all of which was played with a man advantage. Not reassuring but soothing.

And now Lyon is breathing again, at least a little. Just enough to let out a cry of rage, like Corentin Tolisso after the final whistle, relieved to finally taste victory this season. OL picked up their first win of the 2023/2024 season against Rennes on Sunday 12 November (1-0).
But it was tedious. Rennes, reduced to 10 against 11 after the red card received by Guéla Doué in the 5th minute, offered almost nothing at home. And OL, a sick team, showed their collective limitations. The victory was sluggish, but it finally came, after 10 games without seeing the color.
Sael Kumbedi found Jake O'Brien's header with a good cross (68'), and that's about all there is to keep from this game. And certainly not Bruno Génésio's monumental half-time outburst against the OL staff.

Les Gones are five points behind Strasbourg, the first team out of the bottom danger zone of the table. However, Lyon will face Lille, Lens, Marseille and Monaco in their next five league matches. So every point is welcome.
