South African side Sundowns won the first edition of the African Football League after defeating Morocco's Wydad Casablanca 2-<> on Sunday in the second leg of the continental championship final.

The first leg ended in a 2-1 win for Wydad in Casablanca, with Sundowns winning 3-2 on aggregate.

Sundowns took the lead through Peter Chalolail in the third minute of injury time for the first half, before teammate Aubrey Modiba added the second goal in the 53rd minute.

Sundowns retaliated against Wydad, which knocked them out of the CAF Champions League semi-finals last season.

Sundowns added a new African title to its coffers, after previously winning the African Champions League in 2016 and the African Super Cup in 2017, while Wydad lost the second African final this year, after losing the African Champions League final to Egypt's Al-Ahly last June.
