The first day of the Kyushu Sumo Tournament has begun, and 19-year-old Ahn Seinishi, who hails from Ukraine and came to Japan last year to escape Russia's military invasion and is now listed in the banjo for the first time, got off to a flying start.

Ahn Seijin started sumo wrestling at the age of 7 and finished third at the World Junior Championships four years ago, and then came to Japan in April last year to continue sumo wrestling after fleeing Russia's military invasion of Ukraine. After practicing at the sumo club of Kansai University, where I have a friend, I entered the Ajigawa room in December last year, and stepped on the stage for the first time at the Mae Sumo Tournament in September this year.

Then, on the 4th of the first day, when Shiko's name appeared on the banzuke for the first time in the 3th card of Nishi's introductory opening, he faced Asahi Masari, who had experience in the shogunate, and won the match with a "poor throw" by taking a quick front turn from the stands.

Ahn Qingjin, who started the match with a win, said, "It was my first time at this venue, so I was nervous on the first day. I was happy," he said with a smile. On the 4th, I received a message from a friend at Kansai University saying, "Good luck tomorrow," which helped me.

He said that his mentor and former Sekiwaki Ami Nishiki boss Ajikawa has instructed him to hit fast and hard in the stands, and he expressed his enthusiasm for his future goals, saying, "First of all, I want to win two games, and then I want to win three or four races, and then I want to aim for the championship."
