Spaniard Luis Enrique, coach of Paris Saint-Germain, champions of the French football league, on Thursday, praised his star team Kylian Mbappe, 3 days after he won third place in the final standings of the Golden Ball award, saying that he "will win many Golden Balls."

Mbappe, 23, who helped France win the 2018 World Cup in Russia, finished third behind Argentina's Lionel Messi and Norway's Erling Haaland.

Asked at a press conference at the Parisian club's headquarters about Mbappe's chances of winning this award one day, Enrique replied: "Winning the Ballon d'Or, in addition to what the player offers on an individual level, and for Kylian, this is the maximum, he must get titles at the club and national team level."

"Here (at Paris Saint-Germain) we try to win as many as possible, and a player like Kylian, I'm sure will win many Ballons d'Or," the former Spain coach added.

Messi, who won the 2022 World Cup in Qatar with his country and left PSG this summer, won the Ballon d'Or award for the eighth time in his career last Monday in Paris, beating both Haaland, who won a historic treble with Manchester City last season and Mbappe.
