Egyptian fans chanted for minutes during the match in support of Palestine and Al-Aqsa, as the fans refused to broadcast songs on the stadium's radio, and demanded that the volume be lowered in honor of the martyrs of Gaza.

The Ahli fans stood in solidarity with Palestine and Gaza last Friday and raised a banner that read, "From the river to the sea. Palestine will become free" in the stands of Tanzania's Benjamin Mkapa.
