Starting next season, the NBA will once again be available on free television in Germany. The private broadcasters ProSieben and ProSieben Maxx are to broadcast more than 50 games of the North American NBA season, which begins on October 24, as the Seven. One Entertainment Group announced. In addition, there are further matches in the playoffs.

Under the sports brand »ran«, the games are regularly shown on German Sunday evenings, with two matches planned for each one. During the week, as in previous years, there will be more games to watch on the paid streaming service DAZN. According to media reports, there will be around 200 games in the regular season, seven live per week.

ProSieben, which lost the broadcasting rights for the NFL's American football to RTL, may be able to take the current hype after Germany's World Cup victory with the basketball rights. After all, with the Wagner brothers (Orlando Magic), Dennis Schröder (Toronto Raptors) and Daniel Theis (Indiana Pacers), four German world champions play in the NBA. Maximilian Kleber (Dallas Mavericks) and Isaiah Hartenstein (New York Knicks), who were absent from the World Cup, complete the German squad.

On Tuesday, the Dallas Mavericks with Luka Dončić and Kleber will play a friendly against Real Madrid (20:45 CEST) – but only in the stream for the time being.
