FC Bayern Munich did not show any weakness in the Bundesliga and won its home game against SC Freiburg 3:0 (2:0). Kingsley Coman gave the record champions the lead with an arc lamp from the right wing (12th minute), Leroy Sané increased the lead after a fine combination (25th). Again Coman put the finishing touches (85').

With the victory, the Bavarians keep pace with leaders Bayer Leverkusen and their closest rivals VfB Stuttgart, who had both won their games. Freiburg are in eighth place in the midfield of the table.

Unlike during the week, when FC Bayern struggled to create danger themselves in the 2-1 Champions League win at FC Copenhagen, coach Thomas Tuchel spent a largely carefree 90 minutes. Bayern hardly allowed Freiburg to get to the ball, and a slipped cross from Coman also sank over goalkeeper Noah Atubolu and into the goal for the lead (12').

A chance goal, but one that gave Bayern security. Before Harry Kane and Sané made it 2-0, the Germany international scored his sixth goal in seven Bundesliga games after a one-two (25'). Shortly before the break, only the video assistant prevented an even better goal rate, who recognised an offside position of a few centimetres after a wonderful solo and a shot into the corner by Sané (44').

Christian Streich made an attacking change at half-time: Freiburg's coach brought on striker Maximilian Philipp for Merlin Röhl, who had dribbled out before Sané's offside goal. However, the visitors hoped in vain for a period of pressure of their own: Bayern let the ball wander through their own ranks with patience and great passing security.

Late in the game, Coman (71'), who was denied by Atubolu, and Kane (72'), who was stopped by Manuel Gulde, had further chances. Mathys Tel (77') put the ball in the back of the net, but was offside, a shot by Leon Goretzka deflected Atubolu onto the post (83'). Coman crowned the final attack with a deflected shot that landed in the goal (85'). An offside goal by Kiliann Silidillia did not count (87').

After the international break, Bayern will continue with an away game at Mainz on Saturday (21/10, 18:30 CEST), while SC Freiburg will face VfL Bochum at home on the same day (15:30 CEST).
