David Åhman and Jonatan Hellvig are looking for a first world title and have had a dream start to the championship in Tlaxcala, Mexico.

On Friday, they defeated Ecuador and today came the second win of the group stage when the Swedish duo outplayed Portuguese João Pedrosa and Hugo Campos.

Playoffs-ready

Åhman and Hellvig dominated the match from the start and won two straight sets (21-12, 21-14).

With today's victory, Åhman and Hellvig are ready for the playoffs even though there is one group game remaining.

"I think we're going to get better and better every day and it's going to be needed. We are not allowed to charge anything in advance," says Kristiansson.

Group final on Monday

Hellvig has been ill before the championship, which has created some concern in the team. However, Kristiansson is positive about the situation.

"There's a long way to go on Jonatan, but that's just fine," says the coach.

Åhman and Hellvig will finish the group stage on Monday when they face Hodges/Schubert from Australia in a group final.
