Real Madrid finished top of Group C of the UEFA Champions League after beating Napoli 3-2 in the second round of the competition, which saw Sporting Braga beat Union Berlin 3-2.

Napoli advanced with a goal scored by Leo Ostiagaard (19) and equalized "Royal" in the 27th minute through Vinicius Junior, before Jude Bellingham scored the second goal for Real in the 34th minute to end the first half with Real leading 2-1.

In the second half, Napoli managed to score the equalizer through Piotr Zielinski in the 54th minute from the penalty spot.

In the 78th minute, the "Merengue" scored the third goal through friendly fire when Federico Valverde hit a powerful ball that hit the crossbar and then Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret and hugged the net.

Real Madrid raised its tally to six points at the top of the standings, and Napoli's balance stopped at 3 points in second place.

United tragedy

Manchester United's disastrous start to the season continued after falling 3-2 to Turkish visitors Galatasaray to the bottom of Group A of the continental competition. The "Maneo" opened the scoring through the Danish Rasmus Hoylund (17). But the home side's advantage lasted only six minutes as Wilfried Zaha equalised against his former team after a defensive error.

Houelund restored United's lead in the 67th minute, and four minutes later, Kerem Akturkoglu equalised for the Turkish side to silence the United fans.

Goalkeeper Andre Onana's foul caused teammate Casemiro to take a penalty and receive a second warning.

Mauro Icardi knocked the ball out of the net, but then regained his composure to score 9 minutes from the end.

Galatasaray moved up to second with four points and the Reds were left without points.

In a second match in the same group, substitute Matthijs Thiel scored near the end to overturn Bayern Munich's deficit to a 2-1 win over Copenhagen and maintain their record in the Champions League group stage.

Bayern looked in trouble when Lucas Lerragher's shot conceded after 11 minutes of the break. But Jamal Musiala equalised for Bayern with a superb shot from the edge of the box in the 66th minute.

Thiel sealed Bayern's victory after a pass from Muller 7 minutes before the end to maintain the German champions unbeaten record in 36 games in the group stage.

Bayern lead Group A with six points, two ahead of Turkey's Galatasaray, Copenhagen have one point in third place, while United are bottom of the standings without points.

Lance Surprise

In the second group, the French Lance blew a big surprise and beat Arsenal 2-1, and in the second match in the same group drew Eindhoven with great difficulty with Sevilla 2-2.

At the Bollert Delilles, the Gunners looked on course to win after taking the lead through Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus with a goal just 14 minutes from the start.

But Arsenal's joy did not last long as Adrien Thomasson equalized for Lance (25) and then Elie Wahi scored the winning goal in the 69th minute.

At the Phillips Stadium, Nemanja Godel took the lead with a goal for Sevilla in the 68th minute and then Luke de Jong equalized for PSV Eindhoven from the penalty spot in the 86th minute, but just a minute later Moroccan Youssef Nasiri scored Sevilla's second goal, then Jordan Tizi snatched the killer equalizer for the hosts in stoppage time.

Tough win for Inter

In the fourth group, Inter Milan beat Benfica with a clean goal, which also saw Real Sociedad beat Austria's Red Bull Salzburg with two clean goals.

Inter Milan owe this victory to Marcus Thuram, who scored the only goal of the match in the 62nd minute.

Inter Milan, runners-up of the last edition, raised his tally to 4 points in second place, on goal difference behind Real Sociedad. On the other hand, Benfica remained without a balance at the bottom of the standings.
