It was in the last league game against Bologna that Napoli coach Viktor Osimhen, 24, missed a penalty. Later in the match, he was also substituted and showed great displeasure towards coach Rudi Garcia.

On Napoli's TikTok account, a video from the penalty miss was later posted in a mocking voice. Napoli wrote in the description "self-irony" and deleted the video after a while.

Earlier this week, the star's agent Roberto Calenda took to X, formerly Twitter, announcing that it is "considering taking legal action to protect Victor."

"No intention to mock"

In a press release on their website, Napoli now writes that the club in no way intended to offend Osimhen with the video.

"In order to avoid potential exploitation of the matter, SSC Napoli would like to expressly state that the club never intended to insult or make fun of Victor Osimhen, who is an asset to the club."

"On social media, and TikTok in particular, expressive language is used in a light-hearted and playful way. In this case with Victor, there was no intention to mock or ridicule."
