Saint-Germain hit hard in the first half and ended it with two clean goals scored by Moroccan international full-back Achraf Hakimi (8) and striker newly arrived from Eintracht Frankfurt German French international Randall Colo Moani (37), before dealing the final blow to his traditional rival in the second half with two goals for the other Portuguese international Gonzalo Ramos (47 and 89).

Ramos came on as a substitute for Mbappe in the 32nd minute after the latter suffered an injury to the left ankle, following an intervention from Argentine defender Leonardo Valerdi in the seventh minute, a mistake from which Hakimi opened the scoring.

Mbappe received two medical interventions in his bid to continue playing but asked to be replaced in the 32nd minute.

The Parisian club compensated for falling at home to Nice 2-3 in the last stage and the benefit of its fans with a victory over rivals Marseille, continuing to restore its balance after beating Borussia Dortmund 2-0 on Tuesday in the first round of the group stage of the Champions League.

Paris Saint-Germain rose to third place on goal difference against former leaders Monaco, while Marseille suffered their first loss of the season and fell to seventh place after their tally froze at nine points.

Strasbourg moved up to fifth place with a precious 1-0 win over Metz, with Habib Diarra scoring the only goal of the match in the 83rd minute.

It is Strasbourg's third win this season, raising their tally to 10 points in fifth place, while Metz suffered their second loss of the season and froze at 8 points in eleventh place.

Lens, last season's runners-up, waited for the sixth stage to achieve their first win when they beat visitors Toulouse 2-1.

Toulouse was the first to score through Spanish striker Cesar Gilabert Pena (33), and Wesley Said equalized (45 + 2) before Guinean Morgan Guillafugi scored the winning goal for Lens (84).

Lens was satisfied with one point in the first five stages of the league from a draw and 4 defeats, before seizing its first victory and getting rid of the last place after raising its score to 4 points, two points behind Toulouse XIV.

With the same result, Le Havre beat Clermont, scoring for the winner of Moroccan origin Nabil Alaoui (4), Guinean Mohamed Bayeux (7), and for Malian loser Cheikh Omar Konaté (45+1).

Le Havre climbed to sixth place with 9 points, while Clermont-Ferrand slipped to last place with one point.
