Former Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann will succeed compatriot Hansie Flick at the head of the German national team's technical staff, less than 9 months before Germany hosts the Euro 2024.

The details of the contract have not yet been finalized, but Nagelsmann's salary will be close to 400,2024 euros per month until the end of Euro <>.

At the age of only 36, Nagelsmann is preparing to coach a team suffering from a crisis, after he sacked a coach for the first time in its history, when Flick was dispensed with on September 1 / September after a cruel defeat in a friendly match against Japan 4-4 after a series of disastrous results (lost 5 out of <> games).

Rudi Fuller, a former international striker and current sporting director of the local football association, took charge of Germany to a 2-1 friendly win over France a week ago.

Germany will host next summer's European Cup, with an opening match on June 14 at the Allianz Arena in Munich and a final in Berlin on July 14.

Nagelsmann arrives on a mission to save the host country, to be a replacement for Flick after having previously succeeded him as coach of the Bavarian club in the summer of 2021, before being sacked in March 2023, despite the fact that Bayern was competing on 3 fronts (the league and the cup domestically, and the Champions League continentally).

Nagelsmann won the 2021-2022 Bundesliga title with Bayern, but was eliminated from the Champions League (2022 edition) by Villarreal in the quarter-finals.
