Formula 1 experienced a great moment of the season at the Singapore Grand Prix. Dominator Max Verstappen only drives behind for once, a fight breaks out at the front that thrills the spectators. Above all, the international press praises Carlos Sainz, who can break the Red Bull superiority and win on the street circuit.

ITALY

Tuttosport: "Sainz, he's King Carlos in Singapore! Carlos Sainz sits in an armchair on the night of Singapore, drenched in champagne and sweat, embracing the trophy like a father treating himself to a caña, overwhelmed by the joy of a long ordeal. Two and a half hours earlier, the Spaniard and Ferrari made history when he ended a 434-day fasting period (of the Scuderia) and the winning streak of Max Verstappen and Red Bull.

La Repubblica: "Let the trumpets sound, it's a special Sunday. Ferrari wins the Singapore Grand Prix, Carlos Sainz wins. And in the most fantastic way possible and letting Formula 1 wake up from Red Bull dominance."

Corriere dello Sport: "Carlos Sainz is the protagonist of the Singapore Grand Prix [...] A great day for the Spaniard at Marina Bay, where for the first time in the current championship a team other than Red Bull with Max Verstappen and Sergio Pérez wins.

La Gazzetta dello Sport: "Ferrari enjoys, Formula 1 thanks. Maranello saves the season. It seems unbelievable that in a difficult season, the peak that could break Max Verstappen's dominance was reached thanks to a red car.

SPAIN

ACE: "Carlos Sainz wins like a boss, he defends himself with a performance for the history books. The Spaniard resurrects Ferrari. At the end of the race, he has twenty minutes full of agony, full of pressure, with a cool head he shows all his talents."

Marca: "Ferrari celebrates the great achievement of the new Carlos Sainz. The Spaniard shows masterclass, no mistakes, no doubts.«

NETHERLANDS

AD.nl: "The absence of Max Verstappen at the front is causing an intense battle full of emotions. Not an eleventh win in a row, but after a difficult weekend in Singapore, there is no room for doubt for the World Champion. His absence resulted in a strangely spectacular race at the front."

De Volkskrant: "On the 'ice' of Singapore, Max Verstappen is not the winner, but the hard-working number five."

ENGLAND

Daily Mirror: »A thrilling, thrilling Grand Prix in Singapore ends in a brawl for victory.«

The Guardian: "Formula 1 sometimes thinks about what a show it would be without the Red Bull dominance, and Singapore allowed a glimpse into that highly anticipated future. A spectacle that surpassed even the sport's greatest wishful thinking. From sedated to sensational.«

Daily Mail: "Chances of winning a race for all those who are not in the Red Bull are as rare as the Blue Moon, Carlos Sainz seized them with a highly intelligent performance. Red Bull's mysterious loss of form, however brief it may have been, showed how vibrant this season could have been without its crushing perfection.

FRANCE

L'Équipe: "It's hard to find fault with Carlos Sainz's performance. He was perfect in Singapore, building brick by brick in a weekend that ended with his second victory in Formula 1."

AUSTRIA

Kronen Zeitung: "Verstappen streak breaks – Sainz wins Singapore tyre poker – and wins."

Kleine Zeitung: "Carlos Sainz took advantage of Red Bull Racing's weakness in Singapore to take his second Formula 1 victory, ending Max Verstappen's record-breaking streak. The Ferrari driver from Spain won an extremely thrilling head-to-head race on Sunday ahead of Lando Norris in the McLaren and Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton.

SWITZERLAND

Look: "It's balm for the soul of Ferrari. Carlos Sainz (29) puts an end to the traditional team's drought of success. After 25 races without a Ferrari victory, the Spaniard triumphs in Singapore at around 30 degrees for the second time in his career (after Silverstone 2022). Ferrari had to wait over 14 months for a victory. Charles Leclerc provided the last one in July 2022 in Austria, then a week after Sainz's first victory.

Neue Zürcher Zeitung: "Max Verstappen's record streak breaks after ten victories - is it more than a slip? How long the color change will last at the top of Formula 1 is questionable. Maybe just for this one race. But still.«
