The final of the All Japan Fencing Championships was held in Shizuoka Prefecture on the 18th, and the women's foil competition between the Japan national teams was won for the second time in two years by 21-year-old Yuka Ueno.

This year's All Japan Championships were held for the first time in Numazu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, which has an agreement with the Japan Fencing Association to promote the sport, and the semifinals and final were held on the 18th.

In the final of the women's foil competition, which won the bronze medal in the team event at the World Championships in July, Yuka Ueno and Hanazu Miyawaki of the Japan National Team faced each other.

In the early stages of the match, Miyawaki, who was aiming to win his first title, shone through with a skillful counter-attack, and extended their lead with six consecutive points from the start.

From the midfield, Ueno rallied back and scored points with sharp thrusts from a low position and attacks from a difficult position, and the score was tied 7-6 at the end of the third period, and the first player to score one point went into extra time.

In the extra period, Miyawaki came forward at once, but Ueno scored a point on a counter-attack while going down to win the match for the second time in two years.

In the women's epeeze, 3-year-old veteran Nozomi Sato, who has competed in three consecutive Olympic Games, won the women's epee for the eighth time, the most in the history of the Games, for the first time in two years after extra time.
