In the Rugby World Cup France Round 1 Pool B match between South Africa and Romania, South Africa scored 12 tries to win 76-0 to extend their winning streak.

World No. 2 South Africa and world No. 19 Romania have met once in the third edition of the tournament in 1995, with South Africa winning 3-1.

South Africa beat Scotland in their first match of the tournament and Romania suffered a heavy defeat to Ireland, the favourites, but both sides faced each other in Bordeaux as the second match of the first round.

South Africa made 21 changes to their squad from the first match and started mainly as reserves, but they scored five tries in the first half alone, including number eight Corvus Reiner scoring three tries to close the match 8-1.

In the second half, South Africa scored seven tries in the second half to win 2-14 after scrum-half Faf de Klerk, who also plays for the Japan, came on as a substitute, and winger Makasole Mapimpi scored a try from about 3 meters.

South Africa have increased their points tally to nine with two consecutive first-round wins and are second in Pool B behind Ireland with 5 points.

On the other hand, Romania, who are participating in the tournament for the first time in two tournaments, were overwhelmed by their opponents' speed, individual skills, and physical strength, and were unable to score goals, and lost two consecutive matches.
