Wales won the Rugby World Cup France Pool C match between Wales and Portugal 1-28 to extend their winning streak.

World No. 8 Wales and world No. 16 Portugal met once in 1994, with Wales winning by a massive margin of 1-102, and their first World Cup meeting was played in Nice.

Wales took a 11-9 lead in the ninth minute when Louis Rees Zammit sent the ball forward with a kick and ran in to score a try on his own, and scored a try from an attack near the goal line in the closing minutes.

In the 14th minute, Wales attacked from a scrum near the goal line, flanker Jack Morgan scored a try, and number eight Taulpe Faletau scored a try from the scrum in the closing minutes to win 3-16.

Wales have won their second consecutive first-round game and have earned five points, including a bonus point for tryes, to extend their total tally to 28 and sit at the top of Pool C.

On the other hand, Portugal, who are making their second appearance in 8 years since the 1 World Cup, scored a try in the 2rd minute of the second half when flanker Nicolas Martins scored a try from a lineout near the call line, but they could not fight back and did not win their first World Cup.
