Kanoa Igarashi, a men's surfer who has been selected to represent the Japan team at next year's Paris Olympics, attended a debriefing session for his company and expressed his aspiration, "I want to do my best with everyone's support so that I can win the gold medal."

The 25-year-old Igarashi is a silver medalist in men's surfing at the Tokyo Olympics and has been confirmed as a member of the Japan squad for next year's Paris Olympics in Tahiti.

This season, after finishing 14th on the "Championship Tour" where the world's top players participate, he returned to Japan on the 5th of this month and visited his company in Tokyo on the 8th.

Igarashi expressed his gratitude, saying, "When I come back to Japan, I reset and gain power again, and although my stay in Japan is really short, it is very important, and thanks to the support of those around me, I can get good results."

He then shared his aspirations, saying, "With the Paris Olympics coming up next year, I am working hard every day to become a world champion, and I want to do my best with everyone's support so that I can win the gold medal."

Speaking to the press afterwards, Igarashi said, "I think I'm getting better every day, and I'm confident that I can surf to win medals. My goal was to qualify for the Paris Games, so I want to focus on the Paris Games."

Igarashi will return to his home base in the United States on the 9th, and after that, he will visit Tahiti, the venue for next year's Paris Games, to build up his countermeasures.
