WHEN WILL THE SUMMER OLYMPICS BE DECIDED IN PARIS:

July 26 – August 11, 2024.

NEWS AHEAD OF THE 2024 PARIS OLYMPICS:

"For the first time in the history of the Olympics, there will be an equal number of men and women competing in the different events. 5250 ladies and 5250 men.
- The men's 50 km walk is replaced by mixed team competition.
"In canoeing, the K1 200 metres disappears for both men and women.
– In canoeing, the K2 1000 m for men will also disappear, and will be replaced by the K2 500 m. – In sailing, the Finn dinghy for men class will be removed.

– The women's and men's classes in the sailing 470 (two-man dinghy) are replaced with a mixed crew class.
- In shooting, mixed team competition in trap is replaced by mixed team competition in skeet.
– The dance sport of breaking, formerly breakdance, makes its debut on the Olympic program in Paris.
– The number of medal events in Paris will be 329, which is ten fewer than in Tokyo 2020.

FACTS AHEAD OF THE 2024 PARIS OLYMPICS:

"This is the third time that Paris has hosted the Summer Olympics. In 1900 and 1924, the Summer Games were previously held in the French capital.
"Paris 2024 will be the 33rd Summer Games of all time.
"The Olympic venues will be located in central Paris, close to the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe and Palace of Versailles.

THIS IS HOW THE SWEDISH OLYMPIC SELECTION WORKS:

The qualifying period for the Summer Olympics is underway and runs until June 24, 2024. The first Swedish selection will probably take place in the autumn/winter of 2023. July 8, 2024 is the last day all countries to register their final troops.
