The players of Kubota Spears Funabashi Tokyo Bay, who won the rugby league one championship for the first time this season, visited the local city hall of Funabashi City, Chiba Prefecture, and reported their victory.

Six players from Kubota Spears Funabashi and Tokyo Bay, who won the Japan title in rugby league one in May, visited Funabashi City Hall on the 14th.

The players, wearing orange shirts in the team's colors, were greeted with loud applause and cheers from about 5 people, including fans who had gathered.

Mayor Toru Matsudo, who met with the players, said, "It is significant that we were able to secure the victory without losing our heart, and it is a source of pride for the citizens," and presented them with a bouquet of orange-based flowers and local specialty carrots.

In response, NEZUKA Komasa, who also participated in the final, said, "I want to show better rugby, win the championship next season, and hold a parade."

The players took commemorative photos with the gathered fans to deepen their interactions.

A 64-year-old man from Funabashi City said, "I am happy to be able to celebrate the victory together, and I hope that more and more people will love rugby at the World Cup in autumn."
