Last week, Malmö FF's captain Anders Christiansen was forced to cancel a training session due to dizziness and nausea. He was taken to hospital for check-ups and on Wednesday the club announced that he has had an ICD, a type of pacemaker, implanted. Further investigations will be conducted.

The Dane will now be out of action for the rest of the season.

"We are extremely sorry for Anders. The most important thing for the whole of Malmö FF now is to give him all the support we can and that he has time to gather and recover in peace and quiet, says sports director Daniel Andersson in a statement.

MFF also announces that Christiansen is doing well under the circumstances and is at home with his family.
