Roland-Garros qualifying continues with the second day. Laurent Lokoli, Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Elsa Jacquemot, nine French men and women enter the competition on Tuesday. Under the sun of the Porte d'Auteuil, the qualifications of Roland-Garros continue this Tuesday. Several French men and women make their entrance on the clay of the mythical Parisian tournament. Among them, names known to the general public such as Pierre-Hugues Herbert or the promising Elsa Jacquemot. Discover the program of this second day of competition counting for the first round of qualifying for the main draw.

Nine French men and six French women in the running

On the boys' side, nine Frenchmen will play their first match in this 2023 edition. Mathys Erhard, ranked 362nd on the ATP chart, will open the day on Court 6. Benefiting from a wild-card, the player coached by Thierry Guardiola will be opposed to the Italian Flavio Cobolli from 10 am. At the same time, two other Frenchmen will compete in these qualifiers: on court number 7, Terence Atmane (249th in the ATP) will have to face the Czech Zdenek Kolar (171st), while Harold Mayot (199th in the ATP ranking) will be favorite against the Australian Marc Polmans (194th) on court number 14.

Later in the day, Roland-Garros regulars will make their debut. Laurent Lokoli, author of a good course Porte d'Auteuil during the 2014 edition, and ranked 198th in the ATP rankings, will face the Belarusian Egor Gerasimov (667th) on court number 7. For his part, doubles specialist Pierre-Hugues Herbert inherited a very complicated draw in the first round of these qualifications: the Frenchman, 396th in the ATP, will have to achieve the feat against the Russian Aslan Karatsev (62nd).

Among French women

On the girls' side, Elsa Jacquemot, now ranked 175th in the WTA, will have to defeat Argentina's Paula Ormaechea (184th) on court number 7. Having managed to reach the second round in 2017, France's Chloé Paquet (181st) will face Spain's Rosa Vicens Mas (218th in the WTA) on court number 6. Invited by the organizers, the 22-year-old Frenchwoman Emeline Dartron (405th) will face the Indian Ankita Raina (212th in the WTA ranking).
