German Ricardo Basta, player of Garching, currently a rival in the Bundesliga, has directed harsh criticism of the Dutch coach Erik ten Hag, Manchester United.

Basta, 28, trained under Ten Hag between 2013 and 2015, when the pair were in Bayern Munich's reserve team.

Basta describes the Dutch coach as a man who is "semi-dictatorial" and gives his players "false promises".

"Every child dreams of becoming a professional football player, and I was very close to achieving my dreams at Bayern Munich, but they mocked me and made false promises," Basta said in an interview with the German newspaper "Sport 1".

"After extending my first contract with Bayern Munich, Erik ten Hag told me that they would rely on me, that there was a plan for me. I was supposed to be a first-team player, and at the same time play for the reserves, I thought it was great, but in the end nothing was achieved."

The German, who played for Rosenheim and FC Pippinsried, continued: "Personally, I didn't have a good relationship with Ten Hag, he was a dictator, the players had to follow him."

After leaving Bayern Munich's reserve team, Ten Hag took over as coach of Dutch clubs Utrecht and Ajax Amsterdam.

Ten Hag became Manchester United manager in the summer of 2022 and has since led the team in 51 games in all competitions.

The Red Devils under Ten Hag have won 36 games, drawn 7 times, lost 8, scored 95 goals and conceded 52.

Ten Hag clashed with Cristiano Ronaldo, the current Saudi Al Nasr player, and excluded him from the team's starting lineup in many matches, until the Portuguese left Manchester United, after terminating his contract by mutual consent.

The move came after a famous interview by Ronaldo, in which he criticised everyone at Manchester United, led by Ten Hag.
