Last Sunday, Linn Sömskar skied the nine miles between Sälen and Mora.

She finished in twelfth place, barely 18 minutes behind the winner Emelie Fleten from Norway.

The day after the Vasaloppet, she received an unexpected call from the national team management.

- And then I can say that I was quite tired, I was in pain everywhere.

So it took a bit, says Sömskar and continues:

- I had a day to think and feel.

What was it that made it still a yes in the end?

- This bit that it is just historical.

And it's fun to ride in the national team uniform again, it's been many years since the last time.

It felt a little tempting to do this, says Sömskar, who did his last competition in the World Cup three years ago.

"Unfortunately, there are some who boo Sweden"

But the target is low.

Sömskar's hope is basically to reach the finish line without falling through, she says.

- I feel that I am struggling a bit to recover.

But it will be fun, I hope for a good trip and that body and skis are with me - and the audience, not least.

I was out riding a bit today, there are a lot of people - unfortunately some of them are booing Sweden.

And maybe it's a bit boring.

Only three Swedish skiers

Even more boring for Sweden: Ebba Andersson and Frida Karlsson will not start due to cold symptoms.

Therefore, Sweden is fielding only three skaters, Sömskar, Moa Ilar and Lovisa Modig - and the hopes of a Swedish party in "Kollen" have dropped drastically.

And now you talk about you being booed out there in the track too, how do you think it will be for you Swedes tomorrow?

- Haha, yes, it is clear that we who are here will try to show Norway that we can also be up there and fight.

Then it's a tough track, and it's five miles – we've never done that before.

I hope they can cheer us on too.
