Technically, the title was already clear last Thursday when Aleksander Aamodt Kilde did not compete in the weekend's race in Slovenia.

But when Odermatt then slid down victorious in Saturday's giant slalom, he officially became overall World Cup champion, for the second year in a row.

- It's a new perfect day for me.

It was hot and not entirely easy to drive, but I'm very happy to win, says Marco Odermatt in Viaplay's broadcast.

It was Odermatt's third straight victory.

He won ahead of Alexis Pinturault and Henrik Kristofferssen, who were 23 and 37 hundredths slower respectively.

Mattias Rönngren was the only Swede and finished in 28th place.

He lost four places in the second run and was finally 4.31 seconds slower than Odermatt.

Another giant slalom competition awaits tomorrow in Kranjska Gora.

Then Odermatt can also secure the giant slalom cup, chased by Henrik Kristoffersen.
