17-year-old Taikatsu Hasegawa won the gold medal in the Men's Big Air at the World Snowboard Championships.

It is the first time for a Japanese athlete to win a gold medal in this event at the World Championships.

Teikatsu Hasegawa is 17 years old from Aichi prefecture.



He started snowboarding at the age of 4 and won the Junior World Championship Big Air held in March two years ago.



In the Big Air World Cup, which he participated in this season, he showed rapid growth, winning his first victory in January this year, and this time he was facing his first world championship.
