The Japan Wrestling Association has taken disciplinary action by disqualifying two former Self-Defense Forces officers who were arrested in November last year on suspicion of hiding cannabis.

The punishment is the most severe among the regulations, and the two will not be able to participate in competitions hosted by the association.

Two wrestlers in their 20s who belonged to the Self-Defense Forces Physical Education School in Asaka City, Saitama Prefecture, received disciplinary action to rescind their qualifications.



In November last year, the two were arrested on suspicion of hiding cannabis on the streets of Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, and in response to this, the Japan Wrestling Association considered disposing of the two at the regular board meeting on the 3rd.



As a result, we have decided to take disciplinary action by disqualifying him from participating in tournaments and training camps organized by the association.



According to the association, the disqualification is the most severe punishment in the regulation and it is the first time it has been approved by the board.
