Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl have been two of the best NHL players in recent years.

This winter has been no exception, as McDavid leads the entire NHL in points, ahead of Draisaitl.

Three points by McDavid

And last night, when Edmonton won 4-2 against Philadelphia, the said duo was behind the victory.

McDavid accounted for two goals and an assist, while Draisaitl was noted for a goal and an assist.

For McDavid, it was the first time in five games that he scored.

- In the last week or so I've had some really good chances, but they haven't gone in.

Sometimes you need the rebounds with you, McDavid told the assembled press corps after the game.

Draisaitl's 700th NHL goal

In addition to the victory, Edmonton's super duo were able to celebrate their respective milestones.

Draisaitl's 2–2 goal (on the power play just under seven minutes into the second period) marked his 700th NHL point.

The second assist on the goal was made by McDavid, who was thus noted for his 800th NHL point.

To reach 800 points, McDavid needed to play 545 NHL games.

Only four players have needed fewer games to reach that milestone: Wayne Gretzky (352), Mario Lemieux (410), Mike Bossy (525) and Peter Stastny (531).
