German star Toni Kroos, Real Madrid player, attacked the European Football Association (UEFA), stressing that the start of the "separatist" European Super League is a matter of time.

This February witnessed the development of new plans to launch the European Super League, to include about 80 teams, as an alternative to the Champions League.

The plans include that each team will play at least 14 matches per season, and the tournament will have different divisions, but it will not witness permanent members, nor will it witness the participation of teams still competing in local league competitions.

The proposal to launch a tournament under the name of the European Super League collapsed in April 2021 after the plans for the tournament were announced, but Toni Kroos expressed confidence that the tournament would be launched.

"I think we will see the Super League, and this is for several reasons. The idea of the Super League has changed and it is worth listening to," Kroos, the former German national team player, said - in statements via the "Infakh Mal Le Pen" blog.

He added, "If you look carefully from both angles, you will find that UEFA is not a charity for football fans, and that the European Super League does not include plans - at least in the second attempt - to exclude any team, because there will be no permanent founding members."

He continued, “It is a sports competition, an open tournament, but it is run by clubs, not UEFA, because these clubs believe that they do not need UEFA in this matter. I think it deserves at least one chance. Although we have already talked about losing passion for football, I think that The UEFA Super League is an opportunity to reverse this situation. Let there be more enthusiasm for the matches that we will be able to watch."

Kroos explained: "In the end, let's not deceive ourselves. Many people always say: Who wants to see Real Madrid against Manchester City every week? But are you tired of watching (tennis star Roger) Federer in front of Rafael Nadal over and over again? I did not feel this." This is my opinion".

Kroos accused UEFA of double standards, saying, "I think we only listened to UEFA, and this happened a lot, in my opinion. And why is it acceptable for UEFA to present the European Nations League competition that no one needs?"

He added, "Suddenly, no one asked about this matter. That is why I think it is very important to listen to other proposals, such as the Super League proposal. I have a feeling that there is no longer any listening to us."
