Before the third and final day's game, there were high hopes for a Swedish victory in the Lalla Meryem Cup, with several blue and yellow names in the absolute top battle.

Maja Stark, who went into management, ensured that they were incorporated.

With a round of 69 - which included six birdies and two bogeys - she made sure to take home the victory in a total of twelve under par and finish four strokes ahead of the runner-up, another Swede: Linn Grant

Sixth victory

The victory in Morocco is the sixth on the European Tour for 23-year-old Stark, who has started 2023 practically perfect.

Three weeks ago, in the first event of the year, she finished second on the LPGA tour in the Tournament of Champions in Florida.

Linn Grant is also said to be quite happy with her second place at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in the Moroccan capital Rabat.

Grant started the competition heavily, with a round of 73, but has since played brilliantly.

The 23-year-old climbed to fourth place heading into Saturday, finishing with a 68, four under par, and ultimately trailing only Stark in the leaderboard.

Power lost

Only three players matched Grant's Saturday score, including Linnea Johansson who thus climbed up to 13th place - which she shared with Johanna Gustavsson - twelve strokes from victory.

A Swede who had a heavier last day was Linnea Ström.

The 26-year-old finished third, three strokes behind Maja Stark, but did not have the day, went five strokes over par and fell to a final shared 19th place with, among others, Lisa Pettersson.
