There was no new WC gold in the sprint for Swedish star Martin Ponsilouma.

He opened strongly on Saturday and shot full in the prone shot, but then everything went wrong.

Ponsilouma missed three shots in the standing shooting and the medal chance was blown away.

The 27-year-old had obvious problems with the wind, which increased just before his standing shooting.

- He has a problem there.

It's so sad, says expert Björn Ferry.

- You can really see on the TV pictures how the wind takes hold of his body, says commentator Ola Brännholm.

Shooting coach Johan Hagström says that the dense fog in Oberhof caused it for Ponsilouma.

- Where I stood and looked, I could barely see the painting, he says.

Sebastian Samuelsson also shot away in the standing shooting, where he missed two shots.

The competition is ongoing.
