Olympique de Marseille qualified for the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France by beating Paris Saint-Germain 2 goals to 1 on Wednesday at the Stade Vélodrome.

At the end of a very high-level match, Marseille qualified for the quarter-finals and beat Paris-SG at home for the first time since 2011. The Parisians were eliminated in the round of 16 like last season, after having delivered an uneven performance.

OM scored through Alexis Sanchez from the penalty spot (31st) and Ruslan Malinovsky with a superb shot at the edge of the area (57th).

Paris, deprived of Kylian Mbappé, injured, had equalized just before the break by Sergio Ramos, with a header on receipt of a corner from Neymar (45 + 2).

Marseille have won the Coupe de France ten times, the last dating back to 1989.
