Shohei Ono, who has won two consecutive Olympic gold medals in the men's 73-kilogram judo class, is expected to participate in an overseas training program to develop young coaches for two years from next fiscal year.

Ohno won the gold medal at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics and at the Tokyo Olympics two years ago.



On the 3rd, a special subcommittee on the JOC = Japanese Olympic Committee's athlete strengthening project was held, and the plan for three people, including Ohno, to participate in an overseas training project aimed at developing young coaches was approved. .



According to the JOC, Ohno's destination is England, and the period is scheduled for two years from next year.



In the future, it will be officially decided after the approval of JSC = Japan Sports Promotion Center, which subsidizes the project.



Since the Tokyo Olympics, Ohno has only participated in the All Japan Championships in April last year, where he decided to decide the best weight indiscriminately in Japan, and he has not returned to actual competition in his own class.



In addition, he has already been removed from the JOC and the All Japan Judo Federation's designation as a player to be strengthened.
