- Last year when I got my first start here, I thought a lot about the fact that they moved the entire Dakar rally here and then they had to change some structures in this society, for example that women were even allowed to drive cars at all.

Then I think it's a positive change, says Annie Seel to SVT Sport.

The Swede, who is making his tenth start in the competition, believes that one cannot turn a blind eye to what the country wants to achieve by organizing the Dakar rally.

- Then I was here and competed again in the spring and won the first all-female rally competition down here and then it feels like the whole federation is behind this and it has nothing to do with the Dakar rally.

And that the government is behind this, it is clear that they want to clean up their country.

They want tourism here, and you shouldn't turn a blind eye to that.
