Alexandra Popp on EM 2022: "It was a great feeling"

My highlight of the year was attending the European Football Championship in England in the summer.

And completely.

It was a great feeling to be able to experience everything as a member of the German national team – on the pitch and unfortunately then at the end, on July 31 in the final at Wembley, against England, also next to it because I was injured.

I really took everything with me.

And even now there are still times when individual moments come to mind and that makes me happy.

It was a huge goal of mine to play in the European Championship because I hadn't achieved that before in my career.

I earned my participation.

And I'm proud of that.

The whole European Championship was connected with a lot of incredible emotions and beautiful feelings that I will never forget.
