After three rounds, the situation looked bleak for Anna Hasselborg and Sweden as Latvia had a 5-1 lead.
But Sweden turned the tables to take a 6-5 lead after six innings.
The Latvians responded immediately with a three-pointer, but so did Sweden in round eight and regained the lead 9-8.
Latvia equalized in the ninth round and then Sweden had a chance to decide in the tenth and final round.
Which they managed and won 11-9.
