Swedish defender Hampus Lindholm recorded three assists as Boston defeated Vancouver at home 5-2 last night.

Linus Ullmark in the Boston goal allowed two pucks in, but saved the other 28 shots on goal.

For Boston, it was the ninth home win of the season, which is the team's best home margin during a season start so far.

After the match, Hampus Lindholm said according to Boston's website that the team is in a learning process.

- We learn.

When we faced Buffalo we started off weak but tonight we came out strong … we learn from the little things.

It's a long season and it's a process, it's good that we learn quickly.

San Jose surprised

In Minnesota, away team San Jose made a strong run as they overturned a 0-2 deficit in the third period to make it 2-2 and take the game to a penalty shootout.

San Jose ended up victorious after Alexander Barbanov and Nick Bonino each put the puck behind Minnesota's Skellefteå goalie Filip Gustavsson.

- It feels damn good, Sharks coach David Quinn told nhl.com after the win and continued:

- We could just as easily have gotten depressed and given up when we were 2-0 down, but we didn't.

We continued to attack.

I'm really happy and proud of our guys.
