The last minute surprise.

The striker Marcus Thuram has been called up by the coach of the France team, Didier Deschamps to take part in the World Cup in Qatar.

As our colleagues from L'Equipe and Le Parisien report, the Monchengladbach striker will join Clairefontaine this afternoon, with his teammates.

Lilian's son is having a very good start to the season in Germany, with 13 goals and 4 assists since the start of the season.

Didier Deschamps had until 7 p.m. on Monday to give his final list, and the coach therefore chose to bring Marcus Thuram, who plays number 9 in Monchengladbach.

This is the first time he has been called up to the French team since Euro 2021. The player also echoed this selection on social networks before deleting his post a few minutes later.
