France will not have succeeded in standing up to New Zealand.

The blues were beaten 24-25 in the semi-finals by the New Zealanders.

The women's XV of France came very close to qualifying for the first time in its history in the final of a Rugby World Cup, beaten on Saturday in Auckland (25-24) by New Zealand, with a failed penalty from Caroline Drouin at the last minute.

The "Black Ferns", reigning world champions, will meet England in the final next Saturday, victorious over Canada (26-19), which Les Bleues will face for the bronze medal.
