The Spanish women's team won the World Paddle Tennis Championship for the fifth time in a row, after winning the "DB World Paddleball - Dubai 2022" championship, which concluded yesterday evening, and was held at the main stadium of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis.
The final of the tournament was attended by Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Paddle Tennis Federation, Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee of the World Championships, as well as Luigi Carraro, President of the International Federation and members of the Organizing Committee.
The final was held in an impressive crowd atmosphere, as the main stadium of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships was filled with fans of different nationalities, while the exciting men's championship final that brought together the Spanish and Argentine teams continued until late yesterday evening.
The Spanish women's team managed to win the title for the eighth time in its history, after defeating Argentina in the final (2-0), and the Spanish duo consisting of Paula Jose Maria and Ariana Sanchez succeeded in resolving the first match with difficulty in front of the Argentine duo over Delfina Bria and Aranzazu Usor, with a score 7-6, 6-4, and in the second match, Alejandra Salazar and Gemma Tria beat Giulietta Pedahoria and Virginia Reira 6-1, 6-2.
The Italian women’s team ranked third by defeating its Belgian counterpart, who came in fourth (2-1), and France came in fifth place, after beating Germany, ranked sixth, 3-0. Japan (3-0), Portugal's victory over Sweden (2-0).
