Already during yesterday's meeting with the board, the players were told that a process had been initiated to save the women's team's operations further.

The decision to drop the women's team was made on the wrong grounds by the club as it was not known that the women's team was not affected by the men's elite licence.

- It sounds a bit unprofessional, but I'm not that hugely involved.

There are others in the club who are better at it, says Larsson and waits to see how the club's letter to the competition committee during the day will be received.

- I hope that the hours until training when we will find out more pass quickly.

I live on hope, says Larssson.

The team has already played one match during the season, 1-1 against Sandviken on Monday.

The team is tipped to be one of the few that can challenge Villa/Lidköping for the SM gold.

The teams met in the SC final as recently as March.

"Burning in the knots"

If the women's team does not receive positive notification from the competition committee, which deals with the matter during the day, the players are free to go to other clubs.

- We must focus on what we can do.

I haven't thought that far ahead, but we'll have to deal with it then if it comes to that.

We hope for a positive announcement today, says Larsson.

The bandy association is positive about saving AIK's women's team in the elite series and awaits the decision of the independent body, the competition committee.

- The knots are on fire and we hope for an announcement as soon as possible, says general secretary Pär Gustafsson.

AIK is scheduled to meet Villa/Lidköping already on Saturday in Gubbängen's bandy hall.
