The United States clinched a record sixth world title in the team competition on Tuesday in Liverpool.

They are ahead of the English and the Canadians.

Les Bleues, who made too many mistakes, finished last, in 8th place.

Even without their superstar Simone Biles, the Americans therefore remain the queens of gymnastics.

Led by their all-around Olympic champion Jade Carey but deprived of their star Simone Biles, the Americans totaled a score of 166.564 points, three points more than the British.

The Canadians complete the top 3.

By getting on the podium, these three teams also validate their ticket for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

New record

The Americans have now reigned on the world stage continuously for six editions, a record that puts them ahead of the Romanians, crowned five times between 1994 and 2001.

For the first time in nearly a decade, they had to do without Simone Biles, their 19-time world champion who currently prioritizes her mental health over competition, but that hasn't stopped them from dominating the competition.

Competition continues on Wednesday with the all-around men's team competition.
