PSG and RC Lens ensure, Rennes does not stop and OM skates

The genius of Neymar and Messi saved PSG, Saturday, October 29, from a thorny misstep against Troyes (4-3).

The Parisians won an 11th victory in Ligue 1 but also showed worrying defensive breaches, a debate which had already been opened this week after the two goals conceded against Maccabi Haifa in the Champions League (7-2).

RC Lens, runner-up to PSG (2nd, 30 points), did not experience the same difficulties against Toulouse (3-0).

The Lensois have clearly won thanks to a hat-trick from Openda and confirm that they will be a solid team this year, with only one defeat on the clock so far since the start of the season.

Rennes completes the podium at the end of this weekend.

The Bretons took advantage, on Sunday, of the defeat of Lorient against Nice (1-2) to climb to 3rd place after their victory – the fifth consecutive in Ligue 1, the best current series – against Montpellier.

The Breton offensive armada Terrier-Gouiri-Kalimuendo has been as impressive as it has been tireless for several matches.

Olympique de Marseille, meanwhile, skates.

After three consecutive defeats in Ligue 1, the Olympians intended to break this series on Saturday in Strasbourg, but it was without counting on the equalizer at the last minute from Gameiro (2-2).

With this draw, OM are provisionally 5th with 24 points.

Madrid clubs do not win, Barça wins on the wire

Real Madrid were hooked by promoted Girona (1-1) on Sunday for the 12th day of La Liga.

Despite a goal from Vinicius (70th), the people of Madrid conceded a goal ten minutes later on a penalty following a disputed handball from Asensio in the penalty area.

With this second draw in 12 games, the Merengue remain at the top of La Liga (32 points) but are only one unit ahead of their rival, FC Barcelona (31 points).

Eliminated from the Champions League, the Catalans had to wait until the last minute against FC Valence on Saturday to win on the wire thanks to a goal from Lewandowski (0-1).

Atlético Madrid (3rd, 23 points) did not experience the same fortune: the Madrid club were disillusioned in Cadiz, after a completely crazy end to the match which saw the Colchoneros come back to 2-2 before conceding a goal fatal at the 90th + 9 (3-2).

The Colchoneros now point to 8 points from Barça and 9 from Real.

For Cadiz, this is a capital victory.

The Andalusians, penultimate in La Liga before this meeting, had won only one game before this one this season.

The Cadets thus recorded their first success of the season at home, and returned to equal points with Sevilla FC of Jorge Sampaoli (18th, 10 points), who continued their descent into hell after their surprise defeat on Saturday against Rayo Vallecano (0 -1).

Union Berlin continue to surprise, Bayern Munich in ambush

Surprising and unexpected leader of the Bundesliga, Union Berlin overthrew Borussia Mönchengladbach on Sunday in added time (2-1), retaining first place in the German championship after the 12th day.

After being trailed half an hour into the game, Urs Fischer's players came back tied ten minutes from the end before scoring the winning goal in the 90th + 7 on the last corner of the game.

Thanks to this success, Union Berlin retains the leading position with 26 points, one more than Bayern Munich.

The Bavarians did not, however, do in the lace, Saturday, at home with a very large victory against Mainz (6-2).

The Bavarians have a fourth success in the last five days of the Bundesliga and remain in ambush.

Behind, Freiburg remains on the podium (3rd, 24 points) after its success on the lawn of the red lantern Schalke 04 (0-2) and keeps two points ahead of Borussia Dortmund (22 points), winner on Saturday against at Eintracht Frankfurt (1-2).

RB Leipzig meanwhile continues its rise in the Bundesliga.

Victorious on Saturday against Bayer Leverkusen (2-0), Marco Rose's men perfectly negotiated this meeting between two Champions League matches and continue their recovery in the standings with 19 points on the clock.

Naples continues its path alone in the lead, Atalanta again second

Naples consolidated its leading position in Serie A on Saturday by playing at home against Sassuolo during the 12th day of the Italian championship.

Thanks to a hat-trick from Osimhen and a goal from Georgian winger Kvaratskhelia (also a decisive double assist), the Neapolitans remain the only undefeated team (10 wins and 2 draws).

Above all, they have a 13th victory in all competitions (8 in the league, 5 in the Champions League).

Atalanta Bergamo temporarily took second place in the standings after their away victory on Sunday against Empoli (0-2).

The Dea (27 points) is five units behind the leader Naples, enough to augur a sizeable poster between the two clubs which will meet next Saturday for the 13th day of Serie A.

11 - Only Diego Milito (15) and Cristiano Ronaldo (13) have been involved in more goals than Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (11 - 6 goals, 5 assists) in their first 12 Serie A matches since Opta collected this data ( 2004/05).

AC Milan (3rd, 26 points) lost their second game of the season on Sunday at Torino (2-1).

The Rossoneri, who were on a current series of four consecutive victories in the league, had not lost since September 18 (1-2 defeat against Naples).

They are now six points behind the Neapolitans and will have to watch their backs.

In their rear-view mirror, rival club Inter (5th, 24 points) scored a clear success on Saturday against Sampdoria Genoa (3-0) while Lazio Rome (4th, 24 points) fell on Sunday at home against in Salernitana (1-3).

Also note the success of Juventus Turin, which revived on Saturday in Lecce (0-1) after its elimination this week in the Champions League.

Arsenal secure, City keep the pressure on and Tottenham narrowly win

Arsenal consolidated their first place in the Premier League standings on Sunday by sharply dismissing bottom side Nottingham Forest (5-0).

The Gunners set the pace in this match, with nearly 70% possession and 24 shots including 10 on target, against a promoted player who remained on a victory against Liverpool (1-0) but who was completely overtaken by his opponent from day.

With 31 points, Arsenal are two steps ahead of the defending champion, Manchester City, two days before the "World break".

The Citizens had however virtually regained first place on Saturday after their victory at Leicester (0-1) thanks to a superb free kick from De Bruyne.

At the third of the English championship, a fight for the title could well take shape between the Gunners and City.

Landmark: achieved ✅

Tottenham turned things around on Saturday against Bournemouth (2-3 victory), before going to Marseille on Tuesday to play a decisive match in the Champions League.

The Spurs, led 2-0 after less than 50 minutes of play, found the resources to come back to the score and even win narrowly in the 90th + 2.

Antonio Conte's players are also taking advantage of this success to defend their third place in the league (26 points).

Because, behind, Newcastle and Manchester United are in ambush.

The Magpies (4th, 24 points) easily won against Aston Villa (4-0) on Saturday and the Red Devils (5th, 23 points) beat West Ham on Sunday (1-0) thanks to a goal from Rashford – which became the 22nd Red Devil to score more than 100 goals, but the first since Wayne Rooney in 2009. What's more, the Red Devils have played one game less than Tottenham and Newcastle.
