Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Education and Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and his guest, Igor Levitin, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation for Sports Affairs and Transport, discussed ways of cooperation in various fields related to the development of the sports sector, including in the field of training and development of sports cadres.

During the meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the General Sports Authority, within the framework of the Russian guest's visit to the UAE, the two sides discussed several topics, including developing a mechanism for discovering and developing talent, promoting sports investment and cooperation in the field of sports medicine.

Al Falasi said in a press statement: "The UAE is keen to develop cooperation efforts with the aim of improving the sports sector by benefiting from the best international experiences. His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State to Russia, and his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the context of promoting fruitful and constructive cooperation between the two countries.

Belhoul continued, "The State of Russia has a history full of achievements in various sports, and through cooperation with the Russian side during the coming period, we will focus on enhancing interest in sports talents and investing in human capital, relying on international best practices, in addition to enhancing the exchange of experiences between us with the aim of developing Work systems in the sports sector based on the basic pillars of the sports work system in the UAE, which are governance, partnership and achievement. This cooperation gives us the opportunity to strengthen our international partnerships and discover more opportunities to empower technical and administrative cadres within the sports sector.”

For his part, Igor Levitin stressed the strength of relations between the two countries, and expressed Russia's interest in developing partnership in various sports aspects. The sports growth in the two countries, in addition to encouraging investors to see the promising opportunities to invest in the sports field.”

The two sides discussed ways to develop benefiting from the memorandum of understanding previously concluded between the two countries in the field of enhancing cooperation to develop sports facilities and institutions, exchanging sports experiences in the field of discovering and sponsoring sports talents, exchanging institutional experiences between the two countries in sports investment and encouraging investors in both countries to invest in the sports sector and establish Sports facilities, in addition to strengthening cooperation in the field of sports medicine.

The General Sports Authority is working to expand international partnerships with the aim of achieving the goals of the Sports Sector Strategy 2032, which is to work on developing talent and enhancing opportunities for continental and international achievements, in addition to upgrading administrative work in all sports sector institutions based on strengthening governance and preparing new sports leaders.
