The final round of the Japan Open, which decides the best golfer in Japan, was held in Hyogo Prefecture, and amateur university student Taika Semikawa won the tournament for the first time with a total of 10 under par.

It was the first time in 95 years that an amateur won the Japan Open since the first tournament.

The "Japan Open" of golf is one of the domestic major tournaments, and this year was held at the Sanko Golf Club Japan Course in Miki City, Hyogo Prefecture.

A 4th year amateur at Tohoku Fukushi University, 21-year-old Semikawa started as the sole leader with a total of 13 under par. I put the 2nd shot in the deep rough near the green, and I couldn't hit the 3rd and 4th shots, so I made a triple bogey on this hole.

In the second half, Kazuki Higa, who is currently ranked number one in the prize money ranking in Japan, is catching up, showing tenacity with his stable shots. Although I dropped it, I won the first time with a total of 10 under par.

Semikawa has held the lead since the first round, and has won the Japan Open as an amateur for the first time in 95 years since the first tournament.

2nd place was Higa with a total of 8 under par, and 3rd place was Yasumasa Nagano with a total of 4 under par and Yuta Sugiura, a third-year amateur at Nihon University.

Yasuka Semikawa "To be a player like Tiger Woods"

Yasuka Semikawa, who achieved the first feat in 95 years, said, "I'm very happy that I won my second victory at the Japan Open, where amateurs have only won once so far. Triple bogey No. 9 I was really nervous about the hole, but I managed to win. I was there,” he recalled.

He also said, "I would like to thank the support of various people such as caddies, coaches and trainers from universities and national teams. The support from the gallery was also a great source of strength." I want to do my best to become a player like Tiger Woods, who can make plays that are amazing and interesting."
