Dahlin broke his own NHL record: "Trying not to think about it"

- I try not to think about it.

I was in the defensive zone for 80 percent of this game, but when situations happen out there, I try to score, so it feels good when the puck goes in, Dahlin told NHL.

After scoring in the opening four games, Dahlin had all eyes on him at Rogers Arena.

- I think it comes from hard work, and we really deserve this confidence we have right now.

We're playing away games, but we're playing them really, really well and we're really starting to find our game.

So yes, our confidence is high right now, says Dahlin.

Compared to Erik Karlsson

The former notorious bottom team Buffalo has started the season with four wins in the first five games.

Dahlin is the first back in Buffalo to score five goals in a row - regardless of time of the season.

Goalkeeper Craig Andersson is full of admiration for the 22-year-old who debuted in Buffalo and the NHL in 2018.

- His game reminds me of when Erik Karlsson was at his peak.

He did things with the puck that you just wouldn't expect him to do because he had that confidence, and Dahlin is there in his own game.

I don't compare him to Erik, but I compare him to that confidence, says Anderson, who played with Karlsson for many years in Ottawa.
