Announcing the winners of the 1st Challenger Athletics Championships

Dr. Muhammad Abdullah Al-Murr, President of the Emirates Athletics Federation, and Fahd Abdullah bin Juma, Vice-President of the Federation, crowned the winners of the first individual challenge championship for athletics, which was held over two days at the Police Officers Club in Dubai, with the participation of 557 players representing 19 clubs in all categories. Strong competition between male and female players, especially at the level of the age groups, which produced many good elements for the future of the national teams.

The participating clubs shared gold medals in various competitions, where Hatta Club won first place in the 5,000 meters race for the men's category, and Al Nasr Club gold shot put for the men's category, as well as the golds for high jump and discus for men, and Sharjah gold for 100 meters and 4 in 400 meters for the category Men, in addition to the men's long jump gold, the 110-meter hurdles gold, the men's 100-meter hurdles, the Sharjah Sports Women's gold, the women's 100, 1500, and 5,000-meter races, as well as the women's high jump and the Academy's 5,000-meter gold, and Khorfakkan gold Men’s 400m hurdles, Al Wasl men’s 1500m hurdles gold, and Hamriyah men’s 400m hurdles gold.

In addition, the other categories witnessed strong competitions at the level of juniors, young men and women, and young women to win first places in various competitions, where excitement was present in all stages of the races.

Dr. Al-Murr praised the good development in the level of male and female players, and the clubs’ focus on the “mother of games”, which witnesses a remarkable presence in the sports arena, in line with the board’s strategy to advance aspirations that enhance national gains to achieve the desired goals in various fields in line with Trends to advance the game in accordance with best practices to achieve its sustainable development.

Al-Murr added: “The important thing is to return the game to the sports arena, and the challenge competition is the first track and field championship in the current season, and we are moving forward to achieve the desired goals, and last season we organized more than 10 tournaments, and positive cooperation with clubs enhances participatory visions that achieve goals.
