The legal proceedings are beginning to fall, a month after the serious incidents that marred the Champions League match between OM and Eintracht Frankfurt at the Vélodrome on September 13.

A Marseille supporter has been indicted, in particular for attempted murder, after firing a distress rocket that "seriously injured" a German fan, the prosecution announced on Friday.

The 26-year-old man admitted "being the author of the projectile shot towards the visitor parking lot" during this meeting on the second day of C1.

He was released by the judge of liberty and detention, but the prosecution appealed against this decision.

The victim, a 65-year-old man, had been shot in the neck.

“Such behavior clearly goes beyond the understandable”

This meeting between OM and Frankfurt, classified at risk, had been the scene of violent clashes between the two camps.

Disciplinary proceedings had been opened by UEFA against the two clubs for "throwing projectiles" and "igniting smoke".

The German club was also to answer for "degradation" and "racist behavior", Nazi salutes having been seen inside the Vélodrome stadium.

In a press release, OM said it "regrets" the "irresponsible acts of a few individuals" despite upstream work with the authorities and "groups of supporters".

"Such behavior is clearly beyond comprehension: beyond being dangerous, they tarnish the image of the club, its supporters and the unique atmosphere that characterizes our stadium," added the Olympian club.
