No one probably thought that Leo Borg would have a fair chance against the 31st-ranked American Tommy Paul in the first round of the Stockholm Open.

Some betting companies didn't even have odds on a Paul win and Borg stood at over 20 times the money.

However, that odds quickly collapsed as Leo Borg, ranked 577 in the world, won one important ball after another in the first set.

In total, he broke the American's serve on three occasions and was able to win the set 7–5.

In the second set, the 19-year-old continued to impress.

Paul didn't get many chances to break Borg's serve and when he did, Borg showed evidence of icy nerves.

In the end, however, Paul managed to find an opening in Borg's defense and break the Swede's serve at 5–4 in the second set.

After that, Borg could not muster the strength required to make it a match in the third set.

Paul looked to have warmed up in his clothes while Borg started to make simple mistakes.

In the end, the American won the final set 6–1 after breaking Borg's serve on two occasions.
