• Courts The court exempts Neymar from attending the trial for corruption in his signing for Barça

In 2011, Real Madrid presented an offer for Neymar jr of 45 million euros to Santos and Dis, who had the rights to the player.

This was explained by the president of Real Madrid Florentino Pérez in his statement as a witness in the trial that is being held in the Barcelona Court against the Brazilian striker, his parents, the former presidents of Barça Sandro Rosell and Josep Maria Bartomeu and a former director of the Santos for the alleged crimes of corruption in business and fraud in the signing of Neymar for Barça in 2013.

Pérez, who declared by videoconference from Madrid, assured that about 10 years ago the Madrid sports management knew that Neymar intended to leave Santos and that is why he presented an offer of 45 million.

Two years later they were 36 million for the player's federative rights.

However, he assured that "Neymar did not come to Madrid because the players go where they want and he wanted to go to Barcelona."

In addition, he stated that he did not participate in the negotiations with DIS or Santos but that all Madrid offers are "transparent and documented."

Therefore, he added that "it was not real" an offer of 60 million for Neymar at that time.

At the end of the statement, the president of the court told Pérez that he should rest since he was in Paris last night.
