The Swedish trio of Magdalena Eriksson, Johanna Rytting-Kanery and Zecira Musovic will have to do without their head coach Emma Hayes for the coming future.
The 45-year-old has coached Chelsea since 2012 and during that period has won the league on six occasions.
Hayes last week had surgery to remove her uterus as a result of her battle with endometriosis.
- Now I am recovering and will need time and patience to regain my full health, says the coach in a statement to the club's website.
Assistant coach Denise Reddy in charge while Hayes recovers.
- We have built a fantastic team over many years and we have adopted a very multidisciplinary approach so that if situations like this arise, we can meet the challenge, she says.
